Even with a recession upon us, Essex is one county where the casualties of the dwindling economy will be minimal compared with other regions in the UK. Of course for many the onset of a recession will bring the threat of redundancy as businesses tighten their belts, weathering the storm until rays of a sunnier financial climate finally start to shine through.
The overall forecast for jobs in Essex to pick up over the next 18 months is quite bright, when we consider the qualities of Essex as a county; we have thriving ports, both in Felixstowe and Harwich being two of the larger container ports in the country, Stansted airport, fantastic commuter links, and areas such as Colchester and Chelmsford set to grow over the next 10 years to accommodate the growing population, things are looking rosy in the long run.
