Even in our stressful time of the credit crunch and seeing large businesses fall into administration, we still like to keep our spirits high by taking long holiday breaks. Thank goodness for cheap airlines and bargain package deals, many of us would have succumbed to a nervous breakdown if we did not have the freedom to jump on a plane and get some respite. Holidays are an important part of keeping us feeling healthy and relieving stress.

One of the most popular places to visit is the Caribbean resort, as it is just one perfect way of enjoying that much needed holiday and upholds the reputation of being a relaxing place to visit. With its clear blue water, year round sunshine and warm climate, one is hypnotised by the islands natural beauty that justifies its status as the perfect holiday paradise.

The Caribbean resort not only offers views of dramatic splendour and food of exquisite taste, but also fun opportunities for people of all ages to partake in a variety of water sports. As this is a very coastal area there are plenty of fishing opportunities, experience in learning how to scuba dive and time to take regular trips on a boat to really appreciate the beauty of the resort.

The Caribbean itself holds interesting facts and historical sights, dating back to the early periods of pirates sailing the ocean, and settling in specific areas such as Tortuga. The film 'Pirates of the Caribbean' was filmed here, depicting some factual and fictional stroylines, when in fact pirates were a problem of the island. Much of the criminal activities would be held here, and the island preserves most of the recovered artefacts in Museums and on ships housed by actors dressed as pirates.

It comes as no surprise that this is in fact can be a very expensive holiday trip to make. In view of oil prices fluctuating in our unpredictable economic period, it is a good idea to keep a close watch of new and available offers that tend to crop up suddenly. The problem with these is that they are difficult to spot and need to be booked quickly, as offers like these do not come so regularly or easily. Many people would jump on the chance of finding cheap tickets to the Caribbean resort; therefore you should do the same.

In terms of finding accommodation most places are not so expensive. Spending in the Caribbean can be done on the cheap and food is generally inexpensive. The people are always very friendly and at hand to help visitors find their way around the island. If you are travelling on a budget, there a number of hostels or cheap hotels that offer good views and guided tours which are normally inclusive of the price package. Some self service apartments are available at short notice and are a little cheaper as they do not include of the typical services a normal hotel would offer.

Before travelling to this resort it is best to do some research on various sightseeing opportunities, main spots and tourist attractions. Depending on which resort you choose, there is always a chance to catch up on the country's history through visiting historical museums and viewing historical landmarks. A good start is to read up forums and recommendations from people who have visited the resort.
