Talks about the ultimate Marvel comic book character have been making headlines for months and now, finally, there's some news to report. Spider Man, Turn Off the Dark finally has some dates to connect tickets with Broadway's Hilton Theatre will begin presentations of the Marvel Comic music beginning the first of 2010.

The superhero isn't just making headlines for its upcoming revival on Broadway's stage, but for who is taking part is such a feat the man behind the ONE Campaign and Product Red and the frontman of U2, Bono has written all the material for the musical, which is also bringing along Julie Taymor for direction, who earned her claim to fame with Disney's The Lion King.

While the musical won't officially begin until February 18th, The Wrestler's Evan Rachel Wood revealed that she plans on taking part in the show, making Spider Man Broadway tickets already a hot commodity. Wood also mentioned that she hoped her former co-star Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) will also be part of the gig, "but I don't know if he can commit to a whole year," she mentioned when talking to the Los Angeles Times. "I start rehearsals in June and will be on Broadway for a year," Wood confirmed during a press junket in promotion of her recent film with Mickey Rourke.

The performers aren't just getting the attention, as a reportedly $40 million budget is making Spider-Man the biggest musical in Broadway history, which according to Wood will be complete with stunts and perhaps even an upside-down kiss. "Marvel continues to look to every entertainment medium to support the enduring popularity of our Super Heroes, and we are thrilled with the talent on board. The all star creative team led by Julie Taymor, Bono and The Edge is second to none, and we are certain this project will delight fans of Spider-Man and new audiences alike," David Maisel, the Chairman at Marvel Studios, said to Movie Web. Maisel has also been part of the Broadway Fosse, a 1999 Tony Award winning show.

Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel said to USA Today, "We wanted a team that could really present Spider-Man in the best way, and in a new way - who had both expertise and a love for the character." The team, along with Taymor and Bono, also includes Bono's right hand man The Edge, with a book by Taymor and Glen Berger. For choreography, Daniel Ezralow (Across the Universe) is on board, George Tsypin for set design, Eiko Ishioka for costumes (Academy Award winner for Bram Stoker's Dracula), lighting designer Donald Holder (Tony Award winner for The Lion King and South Pacific) and more. The musical will be produced by Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle, Martin McCallum, Marvel Entertainment/David Maisel, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Jeremiah Harris.

According to its press notes, Spider Man "spins a new take on the mythic tale of a young man propelled from a modest rowhouse in Queens to the sky-scraping spire of the Chrysler Building, the bustling offices of the Daily Bugle, through the dizzying canyons of Manhattan, to new vistas never before seen. The musical follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down - literally - when he's bitten by a genetically altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to his bedroom ceiling.

This bullied science-geek - suddenly endowed with astonishing powers - soon learns, however, that with great power comes great responsibility as villains test not only his physical strength but also his strength of character. Spider-Man's battles will hurtle the audience through an origin story both recognizable and unexpected - yielding new characters as well as familiar faces - until a final surprising confrontation casts a startling new light on this hero's journey."
