Whether you drive a luxury vehicle on a part time basis, such as for weddings, or use a full time chauffeur you will need to have insurance which is specifically designed to meet chauffeur driver needs.

It is advisable to purchase insurance from insurers who specialise in this type of insurance. Sadly, there are unscrupulous insurance companies who will try and sell you policies which are not specifically designed for chauffeurs. As such when should you have the need to make a claim or have a claim made against you, you may find that your insurance is not adequate or sufficient to make a successful claim.

When you are in business making savings is a very proactive thing to do, however making savings is one thing, cutting corners is another altogether. The easiest way to find reputable insurance companies who specialise in insurance for chauffeur driven cars is to go online.

A number of companies can be found which will provide you with either an online instant quote or provide you with phone numbers for direct contact with expert consultants to discuss your business needs.

As chauffeurs nearly always drive expensive luxury cars the insurance premiums can be pretty steep. Look for different flexible policies and payment terms. Many insurance companies will only provide short term cover or will offer short term cover to help reduce the costs. There variations and restrictions applied by different insurance companies so it is worth shopping around to find the most competitive deals to meet your needs.

As with most vehicle insurance the lowest level of legal insurance required is Third Party Only, however, to not cover for fire and theft as well may be a very expensive mistake to make. Not all insurance companies will offer Third Party only on car which have a high market value particularly if you operate in a high risk area such as large towns and cities.

Comprehensive insurance will provide all of the aspects included with a lower level of cover with the benefit of also insuring your vehicle even if the accident was caused by you. Many comprehensive policies also come with the guarantee of a replacement vehicle should yours be off the road whilst being repaired or while you await the outcome of a major accident and your vehicle has been written off by the insurance company. Again, restrictions will be applied, so read through the terms and conditions to see exactly what you are being offered.

People who employer chauffeurs to drive their vehicles will also be required to have Employer liability insurance. This protects both you and your employee should either party need to make a claim.

Public liability cover may also be required to provide protection for members of the public who will be using your chauffeur services as well as members of the public who may be injured or harmed by the vehicle.

Optional extras such as breakdown, roadside assistance and home-start are also worth considering. As the longer your vehicle is off the road you may not be able to meet your chauffeur commitments and engagements, meaning losing out on both income and reputation.

Chauffeur insurance does not have to be complex if you use the experts who specialise in this field of insurance.
