Weird And Wacky With Unusual UK Jobs

According to insurance companies, apparently UK jobs are becoming far more unusual than they used to be with firms requesting insurance cover for slightly unusual occupations. Some of these unusual occupations include preparation of celebrity chef kitchens, noise levels on construction sites and authenticating paintings and artwork. This article is going to look at some of the most unusual jobs that are currently occurring in the UK.

Fancy changing people's interior's around for good harmony? Then perhaps a career as a Feng Shui consultant will suit you. These consultants are paid to visit both offices and homes to ensure maximum harmony is being created at all times. You may laugh at this but many large and successful companies such as HSBC, Virgin, and British Airways offices have all been designed with Feng Shui in mind by consultants to create positive energy for the business and financial success.

Or perhaps a career in becoming a home economist for a celebrity chef is more your style, preparing Gordon's carrots so they are all neat and perfect. Or maybe washing Jamie's potatoes, either way this career is an interesting one to say the least! Perfecting that Blue Peter 'here's one I made earlier' illusion that is found in so many fast-paced programmes today. But perhaps with this career you need to decide what you're aiming for? Do you want to be a chef or a television star?

UK Jobs get stranger though, if a career in television doesn't appeal and you don't believe in Feng Shui perhaps a career with the dead is more your style. Embalming is possibly one of the weirdest jobs you can find in this country. But hey, maybe massaging corpses to relieve rigor mortis and then embalming them in chemicals appeals to you, no diva chefs to deal with here. Definitely not for the faint-hearted this job, but then someone has to do it!

So if corpses, celebrity chefs and ancient Chinese beliefs aren't doing it for you, there is always a career path with man's best friend. But probably not how you think as now there is a demand now for dog psychologists. Got a badly-behaved pup? Or an angst-ridden dog? Well then you need to call a dog psychologist who can look at all the behaviour of your naughty pet and establish what is upsetting them. Just ask television's Victoria Stilwell a famous dog psychologist and dog trainer who advises people when trying to train their dog to 'think dog'.

Lastly, probably one of strangest jobs available and unique to the UK is the position of the Ravenmaster. You are probably thinking wondering who an earth that is. Well, the Ravenmaster is in charge of the ravens that live in and around the Tower of London. Legend has it that if the ravens ever leave the Tower of London then White Tower will crumble and disaster will befall England. Quite a responsibility then, the Ravenmaster currently Derrick Coyle is in charge of making sure there are always six ravens around the towers, following a decree from Charles the second. Possibly a job for a bird lover who believes in superstition quite strongly!

There are really some rather bizarre UK jobs available today, so when you are next looking for a job or fancy a career change perhaps you'll consider something slightly off-the-wall. Maybe you consider yourself a budding pet therapist, embalmer or Ravensmaster...Ordinary people need not apply...
