Famous, hilarious and beloved comedian Robin Williams is scheduled to have heart surgery, but when, we do not know. The actor/comedian who has presented some of the funniest jokes in stand-up has become known for lines such as "Reality is just a crutch for people who can't cope with drugs." and "If women rant the world we wouldn't have wars, just intense negotiations every 28 days." His incredible talent is loved and remembered for movies such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Man of the Year, Patch Adams, and Hook to name only a few. Robin Williams tickets have been postponed for his one-man Weapons of Self-Destruction tour, until further notice.

Williams, who is now 57, was in Florida when he began complaining of shortness of breath, and is scheduled to undergo heart surgery for an aortic valve replacement. The most common cause of an aortic valve malfunction is generally age, although there may be other factors involved, according to The Society of Thoracic Surgeons website. The chest pain and shortness of breath that are usually associated with the malfunction are typically due to the extra work that the heart has to do in order to pump blood through the valve.

Though Williams' tour has been cut short, he has already expressed a desire to get back on the road as soon as possible. He has been quoted as saying "I'm so touched by everyone's support and well-wishes. This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up." Williams will be sorely missed by those who were ready to enjoy his comedic antics on stage and his speedy recovery is eagerly awaited.

Robin Williams has been the recipient of many rewards in his well-respected career, including the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Good Will Hunting. Oscar nominations include Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in The Fisher King in 1991, he was nominated for the same award for Dead Poets Society in 1989 and Good Morning, Vietnam in 1987. In these roles he became one of the few comedians to successfully marry their comedic skill with serious films. He has also been the recipient for the Saturn Award for Best Actor in the film One Hour Photo and Best Supporting Actor for Aladdin. He has won a total of six American Comedy Awards, a Blockbuster entertainment Award, and two ACE Awards.

Williams won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Musical Program alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal in 1988 and in 1987 won the same award alongside Carol, Carl and Whoopi. He won his first Golden Globe for Best TV Actor Musical/Comedy for Mork & Mindy in 1979. In 1988 he won the award for Best Performance for an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical for Good Morning Vietnam. In 1992 he won the Special Award for Aladdin, and he won another Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy/Musical for Mrs. Doubtfire in 1994. Keep a lookout for Robin Williams tickets when he reschedules his tour, they will be available online. Come back soon Mr. Williams, you are sorely missed!
