The Norman Conquests plays are considered to be one of the milestones of 20th Century British Theatre. Though they were originally begun as the result of a comment to a newspaper, the plays are now an establishment of British theatrical literature. The three plays are Table Manners, Round and Round the Garden, and Living Together. They first opened in the summer of 1973 at the Library Theatre in London. Two of the original titles were changed with Table Manners beginning life as Fancy Meeting You and Living Together originally performed under the title Make Yourself at Home.

All three plays lay out a series of events that take place over a single weekend, as seen from different parts of a house. The first play, as evidenced in the title, takes place in the dining room. The second takes place in the sitting room and the third, of course, takes place in the garden. All three plays center on the character of Norman Dewers, a librarian whose sole mission in life is to make women happy. Unfortunately for Norman, his sister-in-law Sarah becomes privy to a planned event and his own marital entanglement, who goes by the name of Ruth, is also throwing a spanner in the works.

Any of these three plays could stand independent from the others, but together they create a fascinating web of events that entangles the audience deeply in its nets. The plays open on Stage West, playing one play per week to start and then repeating rotational performances for the remainder of the run. There are also two marathon performances scheduled, so be on your guard for The Norman Conquests tickets to this fantastic, and hysterical, event. Though you could easily see just one of these plays and find it thoroughly enjoyable, you will definitely want to see the other three once you have enjoyed your first set of The Norman Conquests tickets.

Intriguingly when you have seen all three plays you will soon realize that the exit in one play is the entrance in another, intricately drawing together a plot that will leaving you laughing for the rest of the evening, and beyond. Enjoy Norman's plight as he attempts to seduce one sister-in-law, charm his brother-in-law's wife, and woo his estranged darling. You are certain to enjoy each individual play fully, but do not forget that these performances are best enjoyed in conjunction with each other.

As one of the most prolific and widely performed playwright of the English language, Alan Ayckbourn is highly regarded in his field. He is so well-known throughout the world of theater that tickets to his plays often sell out quickly, especially with such a well known and well established set of plays as The Norman Conquests. Ayckbourn has written a grand total of 72 plays since he first began writing 1959. Today he is one of the most acclaimed writers of his genre. Tickets for The Norman Conquests are certain to sell out quickly, so be sure to check online for your tickets today!
