Sheer artistry--- that is how some people have described the Tiffany lamps
Lamps? Come on. For those of you who have not truly explored the decorative potential of these light sources, you might be skeptical when you hear someone say that it has sheer artistic beauty. After all, when you think of the word, you think of the one you use at night to do some reading after every body has slept. Today, that is a very incorrect notion, for they have evolved from something that was merely practical to something that is now mostly decorative. This is especially true for artistically- made lamps.
The name Tiffany has been a prominent name in the world of art and decor for a long time now. Just hearing the name is enough to evoke desire to have even one of their products. And indeed, it comes as no surprise to feel so, for they never disappoint when it comes to furnishing something as practical as a light source with artistry worthy to be equaled with even the most beautiful decorative works and pieces. But though we know it to be a household name in art and decor, do we know how it has come to be the name of names? Perhaps we should.
Who is Tiffany?
The very first time I heard of a product branded with that name, I immediately thought that the company or the products were named after a woman. Perhaps someone started the products and designs. When I did some research, I found out that I was right about the latter, but not about the former. Indeed, these works of art are named after their founder, Louis Comfort Tiffany. But he was a man, not a woman. He was first known for his works on glass, more popularly known as the glass art. Eventually, he found a way to incorporate this initial artistry on household things. It was then that Tiffany lighting became known, and so have Tiffany lamps.
These lamps became very popular because they were too able to accentuate the area where they were placed by the illumination that they gave off. Before Louis made these possible, people often thought of these light sources as merely functional and practical. Today, they are already seen as great decorative aesthetic pieces for the home or office.
When you can not afford the original
Having the Tiffany in your home is having the assurance that it will always be the focal point of ooohhs and aahhs, because of the intricate details of art that is typical of these. However, they are not easily acquired, financially speaking. This is because they are very expensive for the average- earning person. If you can afford buying even one, it will be a worth purchase. But if you can not, there is no need to fret.
You can always purchase a reproduction.
Fret no more! It is because there are reproductions of these lamps available. Their artistry is very close to the real ones, and the good news is: they are significantly more affordable than the original ones. Reproductions of these light sources are amazingly creative and beautiful, and you can check them out on the internet.
When you want the touch of art in practicality, cater to Tiffany lamps.
