Contemporary chandeliers are those that are more elegantly made than others. These chandeliers are those that we see hanging in big old castles that were constructed during the medieval time, those prestigious and world renowned five star hotels that are for the high class of society and even in movies where the story takes place during the old times where knights and wizards exist or those about royalty like in London. But what makes these chandeliers different from the modern ones? Is it the size? The way it was built or designed? The light it shines? What is it that makes us gaze at it and be at hypnotized?
The first chandelier was made during the medieval times but it did not look anything like the ones that hang in grand ballrooms. It was made of wood and had a very simple design, it was shaped like a cross and nails were placed to stick out so as to hold the candles for light. Mostly used during meetings it gave the room that was used a very warm light.
But as there are different classes of people there are also different classes of chandeliers. Those of the higher class did not want something that simple in their homes, so artists made design and started working on chandeliers that were more elegant and nice in design, something worthy to be hanged and be seen by many when entering ones home. Thus those we call contemporary chandeliers were made.
Now these types of chandeliers had more of a unique design and required more lights. Some were designed like a crown and were popular with those that belonged to royalty because of its shape. The chandeliers were mainly placed in the main hallway, the waiting room and the masters bedroom. Some were designed with glass beads that could bee seen around or beside the lights, this made it shine brighter and made it look bigger and added to its beauty.
Some were deigned without much detail on its form but this was covered by how the beads were placed, they were hanging and made them look like they were lights hanging in mid air. These large light ornaments that hang on the ceiling adds elegance to a castle, prestige to a hotel, and imagination to a mansion. Such was its use through the passing of time.
There are many things in life that as time passes it grows with age. Such wonderful creation does not fade as a person grows and as time flies, instead it can inspire to make new things, but we do not forget what inspired us. We still look at old houses, old paintings, and even old inventions and find such classic design that we cannot help but appreciate it and we feel like we are being transported to old times, it gives us a feeling that we are looking at the past. Is it because it originated during the time of castles and royalty, or is it because they can hypnotize us using those bright lights? Try and look at those contemporary chandeliers and see for your self.
