Virginia is one of the most prosperous and economically stable states in the US. Fairfax County is located in Northern Virginia and currently has the highest median household income ($100,318) of any county in the United States. Fairfax County is home to the CIA and is also one of the richest counties in the US. Since Virginia Law prohibit the creation of any new municipalities within any county with a population density of over 1,000 per square mile, there are numerous unincorporated municipalities and communities within Fairfax County.
McLean is a heavily populated community known for its upscale homes and upscale shopping malls. McLean is a community that is predominantly composed of upper middle class and upper class families. This is why several private schools, ranging from pre-school to 12th grade, are located in McLean, including The Madeira School, The Potomac School, The Langley School, Oakcrest School, Saint Luke School, and the Country Day School. McLean boasts of offering state of the art healthcare and education facilities. Homes are a blend of old school architecture and modern day utilities like state of the art security systems and underground parking. Only 0.8% of McLean’s citizens are below the poverty line, proof of the high standard of living and prosperity of the McLean community.
