Google Adwords and PPC: Guidelines and Cautions

By: Dan Jeremiah

Google Adwords: Google Adwords Management.

Promoting your online business with google adwords can help generate a lot of targeted traffic. That's the good kind of traffic. You select your key words and google displays your ads on the SERP. Then, while people search for various products and services, your ad will direct them to your website.

Cool.

But, without proper strategy, you may not make much money with Google Adwords. In fact, you could end up losing a lot of money instead.

Here are some guidelines you can use to make money with Google Adwords.

1. Before deciding on a google adwords campaign, make sure your website conforms to standards of good design. Your website will play a major role in holding your visitor's attention long enough for him or her to actually do something. If your site is a turn-off, you've just paid for a click for nothing.

The aim of advertising with Google Adwords is to direct as much traffic to your website as you can. But If your site takes long to load, your visitor won't wait. If nothing begins showing within 5 seconds, you've lost the visitor and a possible sale.

2. Make sure there's no clutter, and that it's easy to find links and navigate around your site easily.

3. When designing your web page, know who are your target audience. Your are creating the web page for them, and they should be your main concern. A web page targeted for academics and intellectuals will obviously be very different from that designed for teenagers.

4. Think about capturing your visitor's details so you can keep in contact with them. This is known as list-building. You could do this by inviting them to sign up for a newsletter or freebie in exchange for their name and email address. You are then maximizing the traffic you get from using google adwords.

Maximizing the benefits of Google Adwords and Pay Per Click (PPC)

There are quite a lot of online marketing techniques that you can use to increase traffic to your website? However if you are looking for something that can achieve that in the most convenient and cost effective manner, google adwords and Pay Per Click could be just the ticket. Pay per click is convenient because you do not have to spend too much time and effort on formulating complex marketing plans and strategies. It is cost effective because you pay only when users actually click on your pay per click advertisement.
But there are a few issues that need your attention to make the most from your google adwords and pay per click marketing campaign.

1). Choose your google adwords wisely:

The only limitation of google adwords pay per click advertisements is that very little space is available for communicating the message to the target audience. That's why it's important to maximize the effect of your google adwords. If you are creative enough, you can do this on your own, but if creativity and word craft are not your strong points, you might have to get professional help. Poorly applied words will not attract many visitors.

2). Use words that generate curiosity:

To make your every word count, include catchy words, phrases and terminologies in your google adwords pay per click advertisement. This will awaken the curiosity of online users and chances are high that most of them will click on your pay per click advertisement. I usually use words like 'secret', unravel, 'classified' etc. in my pay per click advertisements for generating the required amount of curiosity amongst the target audience.

3). Make sure your grammar and spelling are correct.

Nothing puts off online users more than a message containing grammatical and spelling mistakes. When they come across something like this, the instinctive reaction is that if a small message has so many mistakes, what can be said about the quality of the product or service being marketed through the pay per click campaign.

4). Create separate google adwords ads for individual landing pages:

A pay per click add that links to your homepage may be effective, but you need to realize that your homepage may not have all the information that users might be expecting in the first place. This is why you need to create different ads for different web pages. This will lead users directly to the product or services web page and chances are high that they might reward you for saving their time by buying into your products and services.

Google adwords and pay per click techniques are simple when you take the time to study the application and apply the benefits effectively. If you don't, it could turn out to be a costly exercise.
