I am writing this article to aid you on how to reach potential customers from Iran – an extremely new market. To do this you must consider localizing your services/products to the following languages: Persian (Iranian Farsi), Dari (Afghan Farsi), Afghani Pashto, Tajik Farsi, Kurdish and Turkish. Persian (Iranian Farsi) is the national language of Iran with over 70 million people talking this language throughout the country, so no worries about the other languages mentioned above as about 1% of the Iranians speak them.

A very un-reached market: Iran

The Islamic Republic of Iran has faced many political and economical embargos since the Islamic Revolution and only few businesses have been promoted to Iran because of the USA embargo. But now after 29 years it is time for these businesses to be promoted to Iran and make their presence at an un-reached and new market.

Persian (Iranian Farsi) Translation:

There are many translation agencies and freelance translators out there who offer quality DTP services from and into Persian (Iranian Farsi). Most of these agencies provide English to Persian (Iranian Farsi) localization services while few also provide services in other languages such as French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, etc. While actively seeking such linguists/agencies make sure you concentrate on the quality of the work. If you don’t receive quality localization services then you are not likely to succeed. Don’t require quality translations? If not you can also utilize free online localization services from online content translators such as Babylon or other online translators on the web. You can also consider purchasing offline freeware such as Fars Translator. These online and offline transaltion freeware are useful if you are not demanding very high quality translations.

How can I find these translation agencies?

Very simple! Go to Google and perform a search for the terms “Farsi Translation”, “Farsi Translators” or “English to Farsi Translation” replacing English with your source language. You will surely find a whole bunch of websites which offer such services and you yourself can decide which is better. You can also go to translator directories on the internet. The best of these online directories are GoTranslators, ProZ, TranslatorsCafe and Translatorsbase. ProZ is one of the largest translator directories and you can easily seek hundreds of translation agencies for each language pair in their database of translation agencies/freelance translators. ProZ lets you decide whether you want to look for a translation company or a freelancer.

Translation company or freelance linguist?!

Freelance linguists offer lower prices than translation agencies do, but if you are seeking a legitimate source for quality translations, then you’d better chose a translation company. Who can you accuse if the quality of the work done is not good? With freelance linguists, the answer is “no one”, but translation agencies will offer you a signed agreement which will guarantee that the quality of their delivered job will meet your needs.
