Starting a business in a short amount of time can be done, but it takes the right motivation and the right resources.

Motivation

Whether you are wanting to give your family a better life, or just want to get away from the grueling world of business, you must have true motivation, and a great attitude to start a business. Starting a business is something that must be taken seriously. Because starting a business is a true life challenge, without the proper motivation, you will likely give up, and possible even ruin your reputation or finances.

Once you have the proper motivation, you will need to develop the correct resources to allow your business to start and succeed.

Ideas

Many people understand that they want to start a business, but they do not have a certain business in mind. You will need to brainstorm for possible businesses. Consider the needs of your community, your hobbies and interests, and the amount of work that goes into each business. Often times, people have a hobby that would make a great product or service in the business world. Start a list and work from there.

If you cannot complete an idea because lack of knowledge of that industry, please do not consider dropping that particular idea. Even with the smallest idea, a business professional can help you turn you idea into a realty.

Money

One of the most overlooked resources that you will need is money. I am sure that you have heard the popular phrase "It takes money to make money." While some businesses like service businesses and online businesses, cost less than others, even theses businesses will still have some financial overheads that will need to be paid monthly, or yearly.

While it is possible to simply quit your job and start a business, any experienced business owner will not recommend that you do so, unless you savings is full enough to not only support your growing business, but your personal and your family's personal needs as well. It is recommended that you keep your full time job for at least the first 3 months. This way, you will continue to have the resources to support yourself while your business is growing.

Marketing

The most essential, and probably the hardest thing to achieve, is getting clients and customers to your business. Without marketing, you business will not get off the ground. Depending on your business, there is a multitude of options for marketing your business.

Since over 75% of new customers and clients start their search for a business online, it is highly recommended that you start your marketing by making a website, or getting a website professionally created. Remember, the website should be highly professional, and indicate everything a customer will need to know about your business.
