The currency trading minefield

It was in the summer of 1999 that a lineage advertisment in the business opportunities section of the sunday times caught my eye. "Earn five thousand pounds or more per month trading the financial currency markets". At the time I was really pissed off with my permanent employment in telecommunications and I was looking to get out.

I wanted a job that paid more but gave me the time to do my own thing. The currency ad was intriguing, so I gave the person a ring. He talked for over 30 minutes spelling out the advantages of speculating in currencies and was prepared to give me a 2 day course that would have me up and running in no time. The course cost £8k but he could help me get a careerdevelopment loan that would cover the fees and I would not have to pay back until well after the course had finished.

Little did I know that I had just entered the sharkinfested world of the currency trading seminars, courses and signal alerts.

8 years later, after spending many thousands on courses, ebooks, seminars, books, signal alerts I have tried a lot of what is out there and believe me 98% is complete bullshit!

One thing noone tells you is that mental attitude is the most important part of trading and to develop that psychology from scratch can take anything from two to eight years or more! And that the majority, not all, but the majority of these gurus who write books, sell courses and signals do not trade themsleves! Because if they did they would lose!

So canmoney be made from currency trading? Absolutely it can!!

Being a self employed has many advantages over normal employment:-

No premises required - trade from your home
Trade from anywhere - all you need is the internet.
No fixed times - work when you want, if you want
No employees - no need to employ anyone
Little invesment - Apart from your learning costs!!!
Little ongoing costs - normally just internet and datafeed
High income - yes an income as high as made by top executines is possible!

Be aware though that the road to freedom can be tough and full of emotional highs and lows, not to mention the occasional decimation of your trading account.

I have travelled the road as have countless others and have experienced everything, form con brokers to con experts and systems.

For a number of years now I have owned a website called www.trading-for-a-living.com that brings to peoples attention trading tools that are working for me. That doesn't necessarily mean they will work for you too, however, if they work for me they will work for the majority of people out there.

My old age has made me less of a go getter and more inclined to want a peaceful life, so my search for the last couple of years has been looking for trading systems that require very little mental effort and time. I'm pleased to say that I have found them and will shortly be submitting an article on autotrade sytems.
